I loved this book. It was well written, well edited and great fun to read. The stories are oh-so-true. I think every person can relate to one or several of the stories being told (although specifically told by women, men can enjoy this as well).I found myself laughing out loud while reading, cringing and shaking my head in agreement with many of the tales. Anna David is a great story teller, and her wonderful compilation of short stories, and the bravery of the fiesty, fierce women who tell them are on full display.Well worth the purchase. If you're like me, you won't want to put the book down until you've reached the very last story.
This book is a collection of hilarious stories of one-night stands, dates gone wrong, and doomed partnering written by the funniest women in contemporary literature, and comedy. Subjects span the entire field of “What was I thinking?†dates: Younger men, younger men who live with mom, weird men, men who quickly fail to meet expectations on every level, men who over manscape, older men, and even a night out at a strip-club. While each story is good for a good laugh, many are often bittersweet.“True Tales of Love & Lust†also serves as a textbook for men on how not to fail on that big date, or later in the sack. A few stories had me mentally slapping my forehead, and one made me slap myself physically. It is a GREAT gift for men and women, and perfect for Valentine’s Day. It is a solid collection that made me laugh, and I learned a whole lot about the female psyche.
This is fabulous collection of tales of ....Lust and Love, by a collection of authors. Each vingette is short enough to breeze through and the brutal honesty, combined with the talent and wildly recounted tales is riveting. You need dis!!!
This was good read for the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday. I enjoyed hearing true stories about women with different dating experiences.
True Tales of Lust & Love is a must read for any of you single ladies out there! Dating is a nightmare, we all know that, and this book brings hilarity to the situation and makes you realize that in this crazy dating world, you're not alone!
The book was in great condition and made a great valentines gift for my sister. I was very pleased with the quality.
There are two or three amusing stories. The rest are pointless contretemps or pathetic snapshots of men and women living in a bubble of frustration, conformity, and Puritanism.
having been a fan of Anna's writing, I couldn't resist and I was not disappointed! This book is a decent substitute for those of us not lucky enough to make a live show in LA (wish I was closer!) A great look at love (and lust) in the 21st Century. A great collection of stories with at lest a couple that you can truly relate to. Some of my favs were Deep Fried Southern Sex, The Accidental Groupie and My Boyfriend, Jesus.
