I really enjoyed reading this book. I've read several others here, and they all seemed mostly about self-promotion, which is not a bad thing, but I shouldn't have to weed through self-promotion to get to the meat of the content. Colligan's book gave precise non-techy information on how to podcast. He was very clear, and unlike other authors in "how to" podcast space, he gave insight and helpful resources, but was not an elitist about it. I know a lot about content marketing, but some of these podcaster "experts" are "my-way or the high-way of failure" if you don't do exactly, and buy exactly this or that. Although Colligan is explicit in what to steer clear of, he does it in a way that is friendly and insightful. He gives a lot of resources, and I mean a lot.The book is broken out into 4 steps to get you going:(Colligan gives options and many resources)1. How to make digital media - streamline, efficient, and simple ways for the non-techy.2. How and where to put it online - again efficient and simple ways.3. How to make it ready4. How to tell the world about your podcastOn of the things I like about "HTP-2015" is the interviews with some top podcasters. These are almost like whitepapers on how to podcast and very informative. Most, if not all, go into what they use, how they use it, and why they use it. So, the first part of the book, is how YOU can get going, and the second part is some differing views on how and more importantly, why. Great layout in my opinion. The most important point of this book is, is you don't have to spend a crap load of money to be a podcaster. I can honestly say, that out of all the books listed her on pocasting, this book is relevant, written for beginners (and resources for all skill levels), and is well written. I feel confident that if you read this book and are serious about podcasting, you will be up and DOING in no time at all.

You've heard the term "podcasting," but possibly no one has told you clearly what that is. Paul Colligan does that at the outset, defining podcasting as "audio or video made available online for both easy on-demand consumption and/or subscription based delivery."Colligan uses this simple, easy-to-understand writing style to elaborate on his definition, and to teach us how to podcast.Among his tips: Get subscribers to your podcasts, because subscriptions are "the backbone of podcasting."Throughout the book, Colligan emphasizes podcasting simplicity, abandoning the quest for perfection. The main purpose, he insists, is to get your message out, not to sound like you were recording in an expensive studio. Strive for being you, instead of being perfect. The major question you must answer at the outset: "What separates my podcast show from all others?"A powerful bonus: Besides providing his own guidelines, Colligan gives readers the opportunity to learn from other highly successful podcasters, by publishing his interviews with them. Example: John Cate echoes the author's approach: "The important thing is to create quality content consistently, then promote it to get listeners."You will benefit from Colligan's instructions on how to distribute your podcasts, grow your audience, and monetize your efforts.I commend the author for taking the complexity out of podcasting, and for providing a manual every dedicated marketer will benefit from using.

Absolutely helpful! Just as I had expected, given my previous experiences with author Paul Colligan, How To Podcast 2015 fulfills its promise. I pre-ordered mine a while back, and begged Paul for an advance pdf just a couple of days early, as I had my first interviews lined up -- and didn't want to miss anything important. I sat down and read it cover-to-cover.What I love about the book is the simplicity of the first half, and the framework of the 4 steps. It's very clear, here's what to do, it's not that hard, just do it. After I read it, I said to myself, "Ok, I can do this!" And I started that process last night -- got 3 interviews, one of which is a true hero story and was quite a surprise! And because of the book, I feel confident that I'l have no problems with the other steps. The second half of the book is also quite interesting. It's a number of transcribed interviews (or submissions) that Paul had with successful podcasters -- each of them talking about something different when it comes to how-to's. Fascinating and informative to hear what everyone is doing to hear what everyone is doing and it definitely added on tremendous value because each has a different focus in terms of how-to. At this point, just waiting to dive into the bonuses. If you want to know How To Podcast in 2015, this book does not disappoint and is well worth the read.

In 'How to Podcast 2015' podcasting expert and new media legend Paul Colligan has simplified the process, making it possible for more people to podcast. In addition to the hands-on tips for developing, publishing, and marketing our podcast, this book is chock-full of incredible advise and recommended resources and strategies from Paul's colleagues, students, and guest speakers. One of my favorite quotes from the book is, "What separates your podcast from all the others, is what will grow your audience more than anything else." If you have a passion to share your message in a unique way and get your podcast idea out of your head and into the world, pick up your copy of 'How to Podcast 2015' today!D'vorah Lansky, M.Ed. The End of Airports, by Christopher Schaberg

Review

“...[a] well-fuelled study of air travel’s fading profile in our digitally transported age.” ―Nathan Heller, The New Yorker“A strong and innovative book. Tracing speculative paths around and through airports and commercial flight,The End of Airports finds new ways to think about, among other things, drones, airport/aircraft seating, weather, jet bridges, viral stories about flight, tensions with new media expectations and technologies, and seatback pockets. A fascinating read for anyone interested in airports and airplanes, but also for readers of cultural studies, media studies, and creative nonfiction.” ―Kathleen C. Stewart, Professor of Anthropology, The University of Texas at Austin, USA“The golden age of air travel is over, but thanks to Schaberg the airport may become the new figure with which to think place, time, labor, leisure, organization, and communication, as well as hope, fatigue, loneliness, and desire-in other words, the most fundamental problems of life in late capitalism. In the tradition of Benjamin, Barthes, and Baudrillard, this book is theoretically incisive, intimate, pleasurable, and on time. Air travel in all of its multidimensionality, as idea and experience, but also as mood, may finally assume its rightful place in the modern psychic infrastructure.” ―Margret Grebowicz, Associate Professor of Philosophy, Goucher College, USA, and author of The National Park to Come“Schaberg, an associate professor of English and Environment at Loyola University New Orleans, waxes philosophical as he contemplates the role airports play in today's society. His short essays and anecdotes draw on his years as an airport employee as well as other personal experiences. In his eyes, airports have gone from magical to mundane, enjoyable to tedious, joyful to grim. And yet his stories of working at them have traces of humor and fascination, revealing the type of behind-the-scenes knowledge that always feels a little bit exotic to the uninformed.” ―Publishers Weekly"Schaberg's provocative theme implies the end of our ability to appreciate airports as bustling and forward-looking spaces. A prescient requiem for contemporary airports as abetting agents and reflectors of America's declining cultural standards. Recommended for specialists in the fields of aviation and transportation, social and intellectual history, sociological studies, media, and libraries."

Some very funny moments in his life path that led him to analyze airports. He is truly gifted, and does a nice job of inviting us to view the airport beyond its grey, shabby horror. The insights based on literary productions are particularly nice, but I sometimes grew frustrated with the little remarks at the bottom of each page. Some are so random that they are filler, not food for thought. Also, the over-analysis of the New Yorker cartoon ignores a very simple fact: New Yorker cartoons work because they are absurd, not because of their precise rendition of plane or a chair. Still, the narrative flows nicely and offers a nice balance to his first book, a far more academic study of the same phenomenon.

On his way to an advanced degree in English literature, and a career as literary critic, Christopher Schaberg was waylaid by a need to make money – and soon enough to begin working as a man-of-all-trades for an airline at a small airport in Bozeman, Montana. It changed his life. The world of literature, as it has been presented to most enthusiasts in America, is something stable, secured in a great tradition built up over the ages by great writers; even if literature is often innovative, it is innovative in predictable ways. The world of airports and airplanes is something different. It is relatively new. It is very complex, technologically, economically, and bureaucratically. It takes one person to write a book; it takes thousands to build and manage a plane. Moreover, for all the engineering and planning that goes into the operations of commercial airport today, and for all the systems of security and safety that essential to it, there is something breezy about it, something unworldly, placeless and vacuous. The airport for most people is a place to get through; it is not a destination. And airplane travel, however common, is unworldly too. It disorients are native senses of time and space, in the first respect speeding us, in the second confining us in a very tight and fragile space. For many of us it is something of an ordeal, but an ordeal without an end, or at least without an end-in-itself. Yet it is a fundamental condition of modern life. Having written a definitive, objective study of the literature of airports, Schaberg now gets personal and poetic. In the first part, Schaberg tells the story of his working at an airport, including his working at one during the time of 9/11. In the second part, he moves around with observations about planes and people, about arrivals and departures. Every page in the book comes with a maxim which has very little to do with the text on that page but much to do with the experience of dislocation that is inherent in air travel. For example, “The plane of immanence is itself actualized in the airport.” It is not quite Rochefoucauld, or Baudrillard, but it is pretty good. And we get lyrical passages like the following:[My puzzlement] is all around me. It’s in the “heightened sate of security” that has been constant since 2001, and it’s in the fragments of conversation I catch as I walk down the concourse, snippets of conjecture and general paranois that include phrases like “since 9/11” and “they don’t know what they’re doing.” It’s in the bored expressions on traveler’s faces, and equally in distracted gazes directed at their handheld screens. It’s in the stark contrast between the young, smiling, probably self-proclaimed “optimist” crisp pilot standing near the departure gate, and his elder, shrivelled-looking counterparts who have been flying for ten or twenty or thirty years, and who wear haggard looks of long days and too many hotel nights, recycled air and cramped cockpits, and the grind of ordinary air travel accumulated over the years. And probably they are optimists as well. It all makes for entertaining, eye-opening, disorienting and yet, also, optimistic reading.

New Orleans and Montana: I thought this was going to be the perfect book for me! Sadly, it wasn't. I also thought he was going to more on the future of airports. Didn't see that either.

This book is a terriblis pile of pretentious hooey. The author makes an unending stream of uninterpretable fluff statements, such as: “At the airport, we are monstrous angels” and “Airport madness is oftentimes a cunning and most feline thing” and “At the end of airports, all dreams come true”. It’s an impossible read.

Have you ever flown in a plane? Then why haven't you bought this amazing book! Schaberg is one of the very few scholars who writes with you, the reader, in mind. You will never look at these ordinary-seeming parts of our world in the same way again. Modern things have all kinds of histories, but we don't pay attention to them--we think history happened in the 1600s or whatever. This book will show you that in the very recent past, airports and planes were quite different. Schaberg writes in a really clear experiential way that will introduce you to all kinds of art and literature as well.

This wast first read by the author and it was really good. I loved all the characters as well as the storyline. Christian and Farren have both dealt with heartbreak in different ways, but an unexpected situation brings them together. The love that Christian has for Farren is great, but she doesn’t know how to take it. She isn’t use to a man being all about her. Christian isn’t use to a woman being as independent as Farren. I can’t wait to see how part 2 goes.

Farren & Christian Knight.....Wow! Although he was well-connected with money, before they became an item, Farren was no slouch herself. She came from humble beginnings, as did he. But both worked hard for their independence & worked to fulfill a need to never have to depend on anyone but self, although for different reasons. Eventually, Farren became a Corporate attorney, who held down 2 jobs during law school-some of while she was pregnant. The story begins with their present day lives & Farren reminiscent of how it all began, as well as, Christian at times. It was an intense, often times high-strung, & pressure filled relationship between the older businessman/"Connect" & the much younger, head strong "woman of his dreams" (that became "The Connect's Wife"). It was a good read, overall. But a few times, the past & the present made no sense. For example, the date read 1986 with Farren at the gym, blasting Beyonce'-of course, that is impossible. Lol! It's important to pay attention to the small details, just as well as the overall storyline. Sometimes the story was lost, not flowing as seamlessly. So I felt safe giving a '4' star rating was suitable. But the book is a good investment. Therefore, I am looking forward to Part 2 and seeing what happens, now that Farren has been kidnapped!

Errors were in this book and at times it was moving a little slow to me. Farren was the type of chick that was very ambitious and sought out to have a better life than the one she grew up having. It was crazy how her mom and sister treated her and felt like she had to provide certain things for them. At times Farren blew things out of proportion and went too far. Christian truly was a good guy that wanted to do whatever he had to because of the potential he saw in Farren. He seemed to have everything one could need but found himself getting his hands dirty when certain situations started arising. Courtney was crazy and I couldn't understand why she thought Greg would change for her. One meeting changed everything. Wow I didn't think Christian would do anything to hurt his marriage. It's crazy how things started to deteriorate all of a sudden. Hopefully part 2 will go in more details concerning who's trying so hard to cause trouble with Christian and Farren.

The Connect's Wife is a stand-out, well written break out novel by the talented Nako. Farren is independent and fabulous in her own right. Christian Knight appears to be a regular, successful self-made business man but lives a double life. The two meet and fall in love in unlikely circumstance with Christian just coming out of a bad relationship and Farren not searching for one because she has her sights set on bigger things. Farren falls in love with the upstanding man Christian appears to be. However, each have secrets they do not initially warn the other about. Will Farren be able to accept Christian as he truly is and deal with the good, the bad and the ugly it brings alone? Will Christian be able to overcome Farren's past and prove to her that he is her future? I guess you will have to read to find out. Trust me, Nako does not disappoint!!!!

I give the connect’s wife 5 stars. It was well written and each scene was well laid out. The back story was told all the way to the present and I loved every minute of it. I got a chance to see each main character grow. There’s a lot of action in this book along with some hot sex scenes and some real family drama. Well I’m off to read the Connect’s Wife II. Get your copy today.

OMG I've read the entire series and I'm going to givie credit where credit is due Baby your creative thinking is on one billion I ain't lying these books had my ass in the house for a couple days staying up all night getting through them.. I literally stop my life sort of just to finish reading these books. What an excellent job you did.. May God continues to Richly Bless you in all your endeavors...👏👏👏💯💯💯

This was a good read. I thought that it drag on and on. I have all 4 titles in my cart to see where this goes. I will be reading the 2nd installment soon. I am curious to fine out with happens to Farren and Christian. I like both characters. I think Farren is a not as naive as Christian think she is. It nice that she knows both side of reality: the street and corporate. But how far will she go to protect her man now that she has a family to raise. Like they say in the drug business: jail or the grave.

I love this story and I loved how the author kept the readers attention. I also like the way that Farren didn't just hop in the bed with him after meeting like a lot of the characters do in some of the books. I dislike Farrens family who was also looking for a handout and wanting her to do stuff for me. Don't get me wrong it's ok to help out at times but they were users. Can't wait for part 2 to this to find out what happen
