Happy Ever After (Bride Quartet, Book 4), by Nora Roberts

From Publishers Weekly

Bridal expert Parker "Legs" Brown meets her perfect match in Roberts's delicious ode to weddings and happy endings, the charming conclusion of the Bride Quartet (after Savor the Moment) about four childhood friends who as adults form a Connecticut wedding planning company. In the palatial Brown estate, a multitude of marriages have been celebrated while each wedding planner in turn has found her heart's desire. Cupid's target for Parker is her brother Del's friend Malcolm Kavanaugh, a former stuntman turned mechanic. Harley-riding Mal is a rough-and-tumble hunk who captures Parker's heart with twinkling eyes and steamy moves that melt her cool reserve. Romance veteran Roberts fills the pages with frothy fun, culminating in--of course--plenty of bridal fabulousness. (Nov.) (c) Copyright © PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.

From Booklist

As wedding planner for Vows, Parker Brown manages to make every wedding the perfect day for her clients. From demanding brides to feuding guests to last-minute menu changes, Parker can handle anything and anyone with aplomb. Nothing and no one rattles her, until Malcomb Kavanaugh unexpectedly kisses her one day after helping her fix a flat tire. At first, Parker dismisses the kiss as just another twist to Malcomb’s always flirtatious nature, but as it turns out, the sexy auto mechanic really is interested in starting something with Parker. Somehow, though, the whole idea of a serious romantic relationship with Malcomb is enough to rattle her. Roberts, the reigning Queen of Romance, brings her Bride Quartet series to a splendidly satisfying conclusion with another deliciously sexy and delightfully humorous contemporary romance that perfectly celebrates the importance of love, friendship, and family in any woman’s life. --John Charles

If you're familiar with Nora Robert's style, you knew who this was about before you even got started and had known since book two. None the less, I wanted to finish the series. However, I never warmed up to the character of Mal (Really? He needed a name shortening? ). His character just never seemed natural to me. He was too fabricated, I can't explain it any better than that. And his pushiness with her really bothered me. I know he was supposed to come across as someone who was unpredictable, someone who was not put off by her frosty demeanor, but it just seemed a little bit icky. The way he spoke to her after just one date was so presumptive and borderline trashy. And his mom...one coffee chat like they had should have sent Parker running in the opposite direction. These characters seemed so forced. All in all, if you've read the first three books, you might as well finish up the series. It passes the time but not much else.

I had purchased the first three books at a store nearby.I have read all four several times and wanted to add them to my collection. The quality of the book itself is great. However Why was I charged over $6 when the book is clearly marked $1.I guess you saw me coming.I am disappointed. As I have purchased books here before and use kindle unlimited.Inflation or was it the cost of mailing......I have followed Nora Robert's for years and have read a lot of her work.I have read other reviews about kindle never seeming to have her books available for free. Now I realize why. Shame

The four books are so intertwined and the four girls from toddler's were so close they were sisters in a very beautiful way and yet the four of them all had their own angst from their pasts that come back to haunt them and yet they always knew that they had one another to go to for a good cry and their was always a shoulder right there waiting with unconditional love. This book is about Parker Brown, the one that conceived "Vows" the premier wedding venue that grew and each of the girls had their own area of expertise.Parker was the toughest and the strongest as she was the one with the ability to run every aspect of Vows and with minute to minute changes with the hysterical brides and their families and did it as if it were nothing, she was unshakable until Malcolm Kavanaugh was concerned. He was the polar opposite of Parker and yet he intrigued her and shocked her in ways she never imagined for herself. The brilliant green eyes and the attraction was there even though she did not want to see or acknowledge it until she got to the point where he irritated her and intrigued her at the same time and she denied until she could no longer fool herself any longer. She denied it until her three gal buddies got in her face and made her see that she was way off balance with Mal and yet in another way he was perfect for her because he could rattle her in ways that she knew were, in her own mind, were right and at every turn he surprised her with a tenderness and always struck her on a blind side that even she never new existed.Brilliant and fun to read and, of course, so romantic it grabs you from the first book to the last, with Parker closing the circle. If you have a romantic heart these four books will delight and open a space within you that will stay with you for a very long time.

Like the majority of all females in this country, I like Nora Roberts. (I'm a rabid J.D. Robb fan. My children constantly remind me that Eve and Roarke are fictional characters.) Because I like Roberts, I expected to love the book in the series. I didn't; I liked it, well enough to get the second of the quartet, but not enough to love, love, love the novel. I like the second novel a little better. The third I love, love, love, as do I the fourth, this novel. In short, what I do love, is this series. The novels get better. The characters get richer and more vivid. The sum of the whole is greater than its parts is absolutely true for this series. So yes this novel will work as a stand alone, but stop don't read this one first. Go all the way through the quartet. It's worth the journey.Maritahttp://www.amazon.com/Marita-Baxter/e/B00L1CZOS4

I just finished reading the fourth book in the bride quartet and this is my first review (didn't write for the other three) but I have to say that even though I like this one, I like so much more the other three.*WARNING, THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T READ IT*I'm glad Parker finally found the one but I feel this book lacked off something compared to the other three, don't know what it is, maybe I'll figure it out after. What I really liked of this book, more than Parker and Mal's relationship, was finally reading Mac and Carter got married. I was expecting this moment since book two and in this one it finally happened, though I really wanted to read more of them.I wasn't expecting that after reading book one where Mac sometimes annoyed me and I just couldn't wait to read about the other girls, Mac and Carter would be the couple I was so happy to read about when they were mentioned or had their little moments in the books.I'd love Nora Robers to write more books about the couples. I'd love to see more of Mac and Carter, their life after the wedding, Laurel and Del's wedding as well as Emma and Jack's and Parker and Mal's. More! The epilogue was nice and I actually shed some tears, but when I turned the page and there was no more, I was left with the sensation of something missing, of wanting more.
